No Spend July Day 2: Create a Spending Plan!

I think most people hate the word “budget”. It causes people to think of all the restrictions they should place on themselves and their money. I don’t like strict budgets either but I do like to have a plan that is easy to follow. I like to spend my money on what I truly want instead of spending it without being mindful of my goals and desires. If you create a spending plan you will be able to pay your bills, set aside savings, buy what you need, and once everything is covered you are free to spend whatever is left on whatever you want.

You bills are for the most part fixed for the month, you need to decide how much you want to add to your saving, what you need for food, gas, toiletries etc., Our goal this month is to limit our spending on what is left over after everything that is important is covered. You get to decide what you want to do with what you saved at the end of the month.

I’m putting off all the small purchases for something bigger. I’m using mine for an emergency fund and home improvements.
