KonMari Week 9: Electronics and Music Part 2

I'm working on Electronics and Music during week 9.

The Living Room & Master Bedroom electronics are mostly jointly owned. We are completely digital and don’t own any CDs, DVDs, VHS, Video Cassettes, Console Games, or Music CDs. We have a TV and PS4 in the living room along with a drawer of supplies. All the drawers in the entertainment center are empty except the one. We have a DVD player, boxy, and TV in the master bedroom along with my husband’s alarm clock and iPod player.

KonMari Week 9: Electronics and Music Part 1

I did what I would consider my electronics and music today. I'm not very tech savvy and can barely figure out how to use the TV most days. My husband has labeled some of our electronics to help me out. LOL We put together the exercise room this past winter and I've not used the electronics yet. I didn’t have any physical items to discard and it didn’t take long to go through. I do plan to discard the exercise DVDs once my digital files are set up to view in my exercise room. My digital audio books, music & exercise on my computer did take about 40 minutes. I did discarded several digital things.

KonMari Week 8: Office Supplies

I'm working on Office Supplies during Week 8.

The Office supplies category is hard for me because I do paper crafting. There is no line between office and crafts in my little office. :) I'm being lazy this week with not sharing each subcategory as separate posts.

KonMari Week 8: Spare Change

I'm working on Office Supplies during Week 8.

Spare Change is a small subcategory in Office Supplies. I don’t have much spare change since I turned in about $100 at the beginning of Summer. I did have almost $6.00 in my flower pot container.

I rolled up what I could to take to the bank, I put the dimes in my car change tray, and the quarters in my money tube.

I keep $2-5 in quarters and $25 cash in several mini m&m containers that I have in my on-the-go bags. This works great for vending machines or when I need cash and I forgot to go to the bank. We don’t have credit cards and this is one of the things that works for me.

KonMari Week 7: Legacy & Bill Drawer

I'm working on Paper during Weeks 6 and 7.

My husband and I went through our Legacy drawer and bill drawer last night. We were able to discard a stack of stuff. It was mostly his papers to discard in the Legacy drawer such as pay stubs, student loans, car accident, and receipts. I did our bills and medical papers as he worked on his papers. I do bills and if needed medical papers every two weeks on payday.

I last went through our Legacy drawer in November and will have to do it again this coming November. Enrollments will start coming in and we can replace with 2017 papers. It took a week last year just to do the Legacy drawer since I completely redid it after learning of the term from Dave Ramsey. The name/term gave that file drawer a whole new meaning. :) I guess I'll have to come up with a name for the bill drawer since its more short term currently used papers and not long term storage as the other drawer.

We use the Legacy drawer for ourselves mostly but if needed it also serve our family. It has to be keep organized enough for someone to lay their hands onto and know what they are looking for or need. It provides all of the important information our family needs in case something happens to one or both of us. Therefore our Legacy. Its based on Proverbs 13:22. A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children's children.

I like to do paper as it comes into the house but I also have an office day on Thursdays. It really helps to keep up by having a day to dealing with office tasks and paper weekly. It usually takes about an hour or two a week. Going through our files is a great end of year task that I add to my calendar.

The start. Our keep on the left and discards on the right.

Our Legacy drawer the term was inspired by Dave Ramsey. You can read what he says about the Legacy Drawer.

Our discard pile once finished.

KonMari Week 7: Exercise Papers

I'm working on Paper during Weeks 6 and 7.

I went through the papers in my exercise room. I decided the discard the cardboard CD holders that were empty. I had 2 boxes but moved the now empty one into storage, I may need it later. The exercise Cd's are the last to go before our home becomes completely digital. My husband is going to work on that for me. I forgot to do the exercise/heath books, so I went ahead and did them too. I discarded 3 items.
