Update: Travel/Restaurant Kit for Our Grandkids

I'm updating on the Travel/Camping/Restaurant Kit for our Grandkids that I created to show how I fit everything inside the bag. They will use it for the first time next weekend as we are taking them to Jellystone's Yogi Bear Camping Resort. Our granddaughter did play with the box of magnetic dolls and ended up taking it home with her. It worked out fine and everything fits better inside the bag. Thankfully, I haven't shown them the entire kit yet. I did use a few things that I already had, along with the stuff I purchased thrifting and at the Dollar General. The metal trays that I spray painted look great. The total spent on my travel kit was $40, including the bag.

Travel/Restaurant Kit for Our Grandkids

I decide to created a travel/camping/restaurant kit for our grandkids. They will enjoy using it when we take them out for the day or a weekend. I got the idea to put it together because we are taking them camping in June. This past Summer when we took them camping for the first time we took their normal toys that we keep in their toy closet in our home. It was a bit bulky for the car ride and for using in the camper. I thought I could put together something that wouldn't take up as much space. 

I was so excited that I found everything I needed in one day including the bag.  I spent $22.00 at the thrift store and $16.00 at Dollar Tree. It's a lot of stuff for $40, for 2 kids. They'll get a lot of use out of it. I'll have to share how I used the stuff I bought in the bags once I have everything spray painted and fully put together. I'm going to spray paint the mental trays and Christmas box. The metal trays will be to used for eating and writing while in their car seats.

The bag is a bit bulky and too full but it all fits. I may end up taking out a few things eventually. It was so much fun collecting the stuff and putting it all together.

The Camper Bathroom

We decide to paint the woodwork in the camper bathroom. We used the leftover paint from doing the rest of the camper. We think it looks much better.

Cleaning the Camper

Shawn and I have had a great time with our camper this Summer. On Saturday, it was a nice warm day so we decided to do a bit of cleaning on the outside of our camper.. Shawn put the tire rimes back onto the camper. I scrubbed mildew/mold/gunk off the awning on the front end of the camper and removed sticker residue from all the outside windows. We removed tape residue from the front and back corners of the outside.  We washed the camper with soapy water before spraying it off. We did Rain-X on all the windows of the camper and our vehicles. We put Armor-All on the tires of the camper and our vehicles.

After we finished washing. The pictures doesn't show as much difference but it was definitely dirty before we cleaned it. We bought the 1984 Foxfire camper and had it delivered to us on November 1, 2016. It's hard to tell when the last time someone has cleaned it.

Our Camper Renovations are Finished

Shawn and I have finished the renovations on the camper. We have a few things we still want to do but they will wait. It's been a lot of work but Shawn and I have enjoyed spending time together on this project. We’ve spent every day in the evenings and on weekend working on it since February. We are happy to have it finished. We are so excited to be leaving on our 3 week trip tomorrow morning to Pennsylvania.
