Fresh Picked

I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees of the field their fruit. Leviticus 26:4

3 Broccoli
4 Cucumber
2 Zucchini
5 Cherry Tomatoes
1/2 lb. Green Beans
This is what I picked from my vegetable garden today. I guess I should have checked my garden before I went grocery shopping this week. I will be deciding how to use them for next weeks menu this weekend. I ate the cherry tomatoes right after this picture was taken.
If anyone has any recipes for Zucchini I am all hears since we will be going on our 4th week of Zucchini. I also need ideas for the cucumbers that don't include pickling them. We made too many last year I am going to use that as a last resort.

  1. Wow, what beautiful vegetables - especially the zucchini! My favorite recipe for zucchini is to slice it into discs about 1/2" thick, and put the slices into a hot pan of olive oil. (Not boiling oil, boiling makes the oil turn.) When they are nice and brown, I pour the whole mix over cooked whole grain spaghetti noodles. It takes a while for the zucchini to cook ... but it's EVER so yummy!

  2. Jennie, I was given a recipe for a zucchini apple crisp (I haven't tried it yet). If you are interested, let me know. Also, I've been putting my cucumbers mixed in with my salsa verde (since we've been getting a few green tomatoes that fall)
