Summer White Tablescape

I set this tablescape up for an evening dessert for my husband and me. I am serving Banana Bars and Peppermint Iced Tea. The peppermint I grew in my herb garden and I needed to use up the last 3 bananas I had so the dessert worked out perfectly. The pitcher I am serving the tea in I got at a thrift store last summer for $1.00 and the cake dish from Walmart for $2.50 about 10 years ago.

The dishes are Milk Glass and called snack sets or hospitality sets or hostess sets. I bought them at a thrift store for $5.oo for a set of 4 last summer. I also bought the milk glass bowl with several others for $0.50 ea/ (I think I have 7 of them) last summer also. The vase I got for free at a local Clothes Closet 2 years ago and potted the Spathiphyllum ($1.50 at Wal-Mart 2 years ago) in it I added the Queen Anne’s Lace my husband picked for me on Sunday. The shells I have had for so many years that I am not sure when I got them but I think they may have came from the Dollar Tree because I still have the basket that they came in. The linen I got at a thrift store for $1 last summer I love the little blue hand embroidered flowers. Can you tell I was hunting for dishes and linens a lot last summer? It paid off because I have some nice pieces now and a China Hutch to put some of it in that I got this summer for an anniversary gift. The candle was $0.50 at Wal-Mart.

  6. Beautiful. I love milk glass and the vintage snack trays are a favorite as well. My daughter asked me to collect a certian pattern to be used at her wedding reception (very small) I was thrilled that she wanted me to use them.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. Hope you'll come back often.
