I put this tablescape together last night as I was about to serve dessert to my family. I made the Strawberry Kool-Aid Pie and my oldest daughter Brittany (20 years old)made the Fruity Cheerios Treats earlier in the day. As I was putting it on the table I thought it was so colorful I could play it up a little. I could not find a tablecloth that I liked to go with it so I just used the moss green one since I have been using it this week and it had just came out of the wash. All of the food was things I already had in my kitchen and I didn’t buy anything specifically for this dessert buffet, I just pulled together what I had. The Kool-Aid Fizzy is my stand-by recipe when I need a punch in a hurry or am trying to cut the costs down. The crystal snack sets I paid $12.00 for a set of 8 this Spring. The serving dishes are all by Anchor-Hocking. I printed off Rainbow Coloring Pages and set crayons on the table. My teens were excited to see the table set up and my youngest son (13 years old) said it reminded him of Willy Wonka or Candyland.
Menu /Cost Breakdown
Tropical Punch Kool-Aid Fizzy $0.60
Strawberry Kool-Aid Pie $1.70 (Crust-butter and leftover shortbread cookies)
Fruity Cheerios Treats $1.65
Strawberry Marshmallows $1.50
Rainbow Twists Licorice $1.16
Total $6.61 for 6 people (We ate less than half so I will serve the rest this week)
