Lent: #12 of 40 Days of Projects

My husband and I have been trying to lose a bit of weight. On March 1st we got rid of all the unhealthy snacks and replaced them with nuts, cheese, lunch meat, yogurt, fruit, and veggies. For the next step I collected On-the-Go Meal idea for us and then I spent some time picking recipes from a Whole30 cookbook.

I made this recipe for dinner and we both liked it a lot. I did over cook the chicken a bit so the garlic burned. We had leftover pasta with it since we're not doing any special diet. Rosemary-Garlic Chicken with Bacon-Wrapped Cabbage from the Whole30 Fast and Easy Cookbook.

I made this recipe Chicken and Mushroom Soup from the Whole30 Fast and Easy Cookbook too.

It hasn't been too bad with meals. The cravings for all the unhealthy snacks is hard. We're trying to make healthier substitutes for snacks since we trashed the unhealthier ones on March 1st. I spent a bit of time this morning on Pinterest creating a On the Go Meals board to use for healthy snack ideas and lunches. I think part of our problem isn't that we don't know what we should eat but the presentation of making it look good or better than the junky snacks we're used to eating. We have to make it more convenient to grab and go the healthy.
