52 Weeks: #5 Organizing My Office

My office is my dump spot for all my ongoing projects and it is a mess. My problem is that I tend to set at the kitchen table to do my projects and then when I am done for the day or it is time for dinner I clean my stuff off of the table and set it on my desk. When I work on a small project I clean it up when I am done. If it is a bigger project I work on it for several hours and get bored or don’t know what to do next so I stop working on it for a few days to a week.


During Holiday or for parties I use my desk a lot for cooling my baking project or to set all the things I am going to use such serving dishes, food items, and decorations until I am ready to use them. This means I have to clear my desk at a busy time and end up just putting all my stuff in my desk or on the shelves so it doesn’t all go to the same spot or get organized.

I cleared out the top draw of my desk to use to store my current projects. This will help me to keep the top of my desk clean and have a place to store things as I am working on them. I returned everything that wasn't to be stored in my office to their proper place. I also removed the shelf from my desk and stored it in my basement until I decide if my desk will be fine without it.
