KonMari Week 16: Medicine Cabinet

I did my medicine areas this afternoon. I mostly straightened up and replaced empties. I am tossing 3 items. I store my medicine stuff in several locations. My stepdad who had Alzheimer’s lived with us for 4 years and he would use anything in the bathroom. It didn’t matter if it belonged to him or not. It was safer to move personal items out after him using our tooth brushes one too ...many times and eating all the Tums as candy. We have moved community type stuff that we all share back into the bathroom. We have young adult children we’ve all decided with such a small bathroom to not store personal items for the most part in the bathroom. It store my personal stuff based on were I’m most likely to use the items.

I keep my daily vitamin box and essential oils in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. The shared medicine and stuff are in a drawer in the bathroom. We don’t have much storage in our small bathroom for a family of 6. I keep my allergy medicine in my office desk because it’s near the kitchen. My vitamins and prescriptions are in a basket in my closet. My night time cold medicine and sleeping aides in my night stand in the master bedroom.

We keep our duplicates of stock on shelves in the basement because we have a rule of only one similar item is stored in the main house. It keeps things organized and several of the same items don’t get opened. We live in a small town and I buy most of our toiletry, medicine, laundry, and kitchen items once a month.
