I'm following along with the A Bowl Full of Lemons “31 Day Purge".
Day 8: Car
I'm able to keep my car tidy and clean. I carry everything in and out of my car each time I use it. I take any trash to inside to throw away after each day. I didn't have anything to purge.
Purge Day 9: Bathroom Cabinets
I went through my bathroom cabinets and found 1 thing to purge. I straighten them up and refilled a few things like the toilet paper and cotton balls. We keep the basics in the bathroom but don't have a lot of medication besides stuff for colds and basic first aide.
Day 10 Bills:
I organized and purged our bill box along with our files. It took 3 ½ hours but I’m finished. I still need to do the receipts for purchases.
Day 11 Freezer Food:
I chipped out the ice and purged my full size freezer of old food. I had frozen some leftovers and they never got eaten. The meats in the freezer have been purged over the last month
Day 12 Medication:
I went through all the medication in the bathroom
last week when I did the bathroom cabinets. We mostly keep ibuprofen, cold
meds, tummy troubles, and first aid supplies in the bathroom. We will need to
purchase cold medicine since winter will be coming in a few months. I like to
buy what we need before the season starts that way we have what we need and no
one is miserable.
We have 3 of our 4 grown kids living with us and
they each keep their personal medication in their bedrooms. My 88 yrs. stepdad
with Alzheimer’s is no longer able to dispense his own prescription medication.
I keep the bottles in a file drawer and the daily pill box on a shelf in my
husband’s office next to the kitchen. We don’t keep most meds were my stepdad
will see them.
My husband keeps ibuprofen and cold meds in his
night stand and his toiletry bag in his office. I keep my meds in 3 places
based on when I tend to use them. I keep cold meds, a sleep aide, and ibuprofen
in my night stand since I use them before bed or when I wake up. I keep allergy
and migraine meds in my office desk since I use them when I’m in the kitchen
during the day. I keep my vitamin near my tooth brush in my closet since I
brush my teeth and take vitamins before bed and when I clean up in the morning.
Day 13 Game Boards:
I think our board games collection is good. We have
purged all our board games over the last year except 8 that my guys play.
Day 14 Books:
I’ve purged books several times this year. I’m comfortable with the amount of personal books I own. My genre is Christian Fiction and I keep them in the Master Bedroom in my china cabinet my husband purchased for me last Christmas. I keep my poetry books in our Guest Bedroom in the china cabinet my husband found on the side of the road a couple years ago. I have craft books in my little office. My husband has a few books in his little office.
The area of books that I need to continue to purge
is our homeschool bookshelf. Our youngest graduated from our Homeschool this
Spring. We have purged the bulk of the books but have a bookshelf that still
have some we would like to sell. I know what books are going to be sold I just
need to have my husband put them on eBay. The other books were donated.
