I have a stockpile of cake mixes that I have picked up on sale for $1.00 each. I try to stock a variety of flavors such a chocolate, yellow, lemon, strawberry, and spice so I have lots of options. Since fall is here and I know it is going to be busy and I love to bake just for fun it will be a good time to use them. I checked my libraries website and I found several cake mix recipe books to use so I put a hold on them and picked them up. I am on the hunt to make one of the recipes each week and post them throughout the season. I am enjoying pouring over the cookbooks as I drink a nice hot cup of coffee and I will especially feel pampered as I enjoy my dessert curled up with a good book and a cup of tea on cool nights this fall.
What a fun series this will be! I am a fan of The Cake Mix Doctor and have a couple of her books :)

Love the Cake Mix Doctor! My favorite it the Chocolate Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting. Tastes just like a Reece's Cup. I just might have to make one soon.
ReplyDeleteGreat blog series! Cake Mix Doctor is one of my favorite cookbooks. I only have her first book, but would love to look through her others too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, my hubby thinks I'm crazy for always stockpiling the cake mix, they are actually on sale this week at the supermarket. I forgot how much fun it can be to mix it up.
