The House That Cleans Itself

The House That Cleans Itself by Mindy Starns Clark

I read this book in December. A couple tips from the book:

One of the tips that I liked is to look at what your messes are or what is causing the clutter and find a solution to that so your house cleans itself. For instance if your kids drop their book bags by the door you can provide hooks in that location to make it look nicer. If you have mail cluttering your table you can place a basket on the table to collect it in.

She said to go through your house with a notepad and document what needs to be done in each room. Also to take pictures in each room and. review them later. Also stand up on a step stool and look at things from a different perspective.

A hint that she gave was to make plan ahead stations. Group together everything that you need for a project like paying bills, sending out greeting cards, wrapping gifts etc. This helps you to not have to look everywhere for all of the stuff to do a simple project. You can collect all the items needed for each project in a container and have it near where you use it.
