KonMari Week 20: Personal Collections

I'm sharing my workout supplies in my workout room and my closet. I didn’t have anything to discard. I did remove a few things like a chair, fans, and a small folding table. I do need to dust and clean the floors. My husband and I painted and refinished the floor earlier in the year before moving everything in. This is on the main floor and had previously been our bedroom for 12 yrs.

Our Camper Renovations

It's been 11 days since we bought our camper. I wanted to give an update on our renovations. We are enjoying working on the project every evening together. I’ve worked some most days myself during the day too. We are thankful for our neighbor who helped us move the trailer and level it out on Thursday evening.

We are slightly disappointed that its more work than we thought. There are two areas in the camper that had a previous leak, one in the front and one in the back. We are tearing out the ceiling to repair and replacing it. We started in the back bedroom area. There is damage to the walls so we are going to have to replace that too. We are going to be basically starting from scratch to rebuild the back portion. We plan to repair the back before starting in the front kitchen area. We’re hopeful the front isn’t as bad. It’s tricky with the cabinets since we don’t want to have to replace them. We plan to use whatever we can salvage to reuse. We have a huge pile of stuff in the shed for the winter until we are done. We filled 3 trash cans work of paneling, insulation, and wood.

We’ve never done a project like this before. We have watched a lot of YouTube videos. We have started making small purchases of supplies to ease the expense out slowly. We are one income and don’t have credit cards. We are enjoying coming up with idea to make things ourselves or to do things cheaper. We are going for quality rather than shotty workmanship or supplies to the best of our ability.

After- The kitchen area. The couch cushions and curtains are in storage. I'll remove the wallpaper in the kitchen soon. We haven't done any tare down yet. I did clean although it doesn't look like it now.

Clutter Busting Challenge November 2016 Part 1

I'm purging 18 items. I'll need to purge 329 more items this year to complete the 2016 in 2016 items for the year. I hope I do but I'm not sure I can come up with that many.

KonMari Week 19: Catch Up Week

I'm used week 19 to catch up on weeks 10 and 11. Week 11 was Homeschool Teacher/Homework Stations.

This was a big project that I've been working on finishing for about 2 years. It was stored together on a shelf in the basement. Its homeschool Pre-K stuff from when my kids were young. I used it when I taught in our co-op for many years after my kids were older too. I’ve worked on it several times to get it sorted for my grandkids but hadn’t finished. My grandkids are 4 yrs. and 2 yrs. I’m glad I got it done; otherwise I’d have missed the opportunity for them to use it. This is the very last of our homeschool stuff. The bulk of our supplies had already been donated to other homeschoolers and a local daycare with an afterschool program.

This category would also be considered sentimental because I handmade the supplies for my kids and now my grandkids. I sorted and tossed in each crate and tote. The Lessons Crate I did make specifically for my grandkids in the same style that I used for my kids. I’m so happy to have these subcategories finished. I’ll be taking everything to my daughter and grandkids on Thursday for our weekly date night.

What I have:

Elementary Totes #1-4: File Folder Games- Language Arts, Math & Science

Pre-K Totes #1 & #2: Felt Stories

Pre-K Crate #1- Craft Supplies

Pre-K Tote #3: Lessons
Pre-K Crate #2- Seasonal Craft Ideas

Big Tote: Puppets

All loaded into my car.

KonMari Week 19: Catch Up Week

I'm using week 19 to catch up on weeks 10 and 11. Week 10 was Hobbies and Crafting. I'm sharing the subcategory of sewing or fabric crafts/needle crafts. I have my fabric stored in two totes separated by color. I only keep fabrics suitable for quilting. I have a tool box for sewing supplies. The fabric bag is for works in progress. The crate is books, bulkier supplies, and plastic canva...s. The three tier tote is felt along with WIP's. I have my drawers labeled based on colors. I did work on this during week 10 but hadn't finished. I have two sewing machines. I keep most of my things in the upstairs hall closet. My embroidery and punch needle is in a tote in my little office. I have quilt batting and fiber-fill in my guest room closet. My sewing supplies were all in my guest room closet but some got moved when our daughter moved back home two years ago.

KonMari Week 19: Barn

I'm sharing the subcategory of our Barn. I’m happy to have all my gardening and yard furniture packed away for the winter. My husband and I did one last weeding and mowing too.
