Training for a 5K: At the Starting Line

But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles;
They shall run, and not be weary;
They shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31

My family and I have joined a new Run Club that is part of our homeschool group. Our group is glad to have several experienced runners as coaches as we committed ourselves to a weekly training program leading up to race day. We will meet on Mondays for a group run with the club and run daily as a family.

We are very excited to start an exercise program that we can do as a family that has such a great goal at the end. As a family we are happy to be able to combine our commitment to volunteerism and our newfound enthusiasm for running by participating in the Loving Care 5K Run/Walk as our first race. We are following Hal Higdon 5-K Training Program for the Novice to prepare ourselves for the big day. My husband and I will be walking and our kids will be jogging as we aim our sights to the finish line.

Easter Decor

These are my Easter decorations that I have collected over the years. I have gotten rid of alot of my Easter decor that I had collected when my kids were small and have been trying to slowly update as I find things I like within my price. I would like to add more Christian decor so I will be hunting the after Easter sales.

The Resurrection
After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb.

There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men.

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him.

Easter Lily- $3.99 Aldi

Pink tablecloth and praying hands table scarf- I got several years ago at a thrift store.

Candle- I used hot glue to wrapped a candle that I already had in green & white ribbon and lace on top edge.

Bird Vase- I got the vase for free at the Clothes Closet and attached a candle stick to the bottom with epoxy glue. I put moss in the bottom and added two decorative stones, a bird, feather, and flower. I just looked around for things I had and this is what I came up with.

 Cross- $1.00 Dollar Tree
