KonMari Week 6: File Folder Games

I'm working on Paper during Weeks 6 and 7.

File Folder Games:

I made file folder games for my children for our homeschool about 14 years ago. The last of our 4 graduated from our homeschool in 2014. My grandchildren who are 2 yrs. and 4 yrs. are starting to be old enough to play with them. That brings joy. The next time they come over I’ll get a couple out to play. I discarded a few that don’t bring joy and relabeled the 4 totes. I moved the totes to the basement were I keep paper that isn’t needed regularly instead of the toy closet.

Pete's (Dorwin's) Papers:

I went through the file tote were I store all my 90 yrs. old stepdad Pete's papers. I’m his Power of Attorney and Health Care Power. I discarded a stack of stuff, labeling a few manila folders, and organized his bills.

KonMari Weeks 5: Grandkids Books

I'm working on Books during Weeks 4 and 5.

Grandkids Books

My 4 children are grown so I'm doing my grandkids books. Arileise is 4 yrs. and Richard is 2yrs. I keep this wooden basket to read from when they visit. I limit the books to 15. The majority are touch & feel and pop-up style books. I didn’t have anything to purge. Over the next year I will update to the next level of educational type books such as alphabet, simple math, and science. I’ll need to start looking for some deals. I'll purge all of these books once I collect a new set. You might be a homeschool mom/Nana if the books have to be educational. LOL

KonMari Weeks 5: Craft & Notebooks

I'm working on Books during Weeks 4 and 5. 

Craft & Notebooks:

The top shelf is craft books and coloring books. I did discard one craft book. The next two are my Notebooks. My Notebooks bring me Joy. They are how I run my life, home, and family. My family knows to rescue them in an emergency. I went through my Notebooks and updated them this past winter. I update each seasonal one as I go along. The bottom shelf is my bible study/devotional supplies. I updated my prayer box.

KonMari Weeks 5: eBooks

I'm working on Books during Weeks 4 and 5. 

eBooks:

I don't like or read eBooks. I thought maybe I would but it just didn’t happen. I deleted all 258 eBooks that I've collected on Amazon. It took about 45 minutes because you can only delete 10 at a time. I'm glad I got them all for free since they do not bring me Joy. I heart paper books.

KonMari Weeks 5: Current Reading Books

I'm working on Books during Weeks 4 and 5.

Current Reading Books:

My baskets were I store what I am currently reading. I would normally have a big stack of magazine in both but have been keeping them pretty empty for several months now. I’m reading and discarding the magazines within a week of receiving them. This is a big accomplishment since 5 yrs. ago I discarded 8 boxes of magazines stored in the basement. I still would have at least 4-5 big stacks, up until about a year ago. I do like using magazines to create Junk Journals. I clip pictures and words that I want and add them to a paper folder with sleeves until I’m ready to use them. Creating Junk Journals brings me Joy but having big stacks of magazines don't.

KonMari Weeks 5: Bible Study

I'm working on Books during Weeks 4 and 5. 

Bible Study:

The bible study/devotional subcategory took a bit of time to gather. I have 5 locations that I store them. I find Joy in having them available when I need them. I didn't end up discarding but it was helpful to see what I had and organize them. I did decorate one of my Notebooks and added it to the shelf.
